Freeze Your Credit Bureau Accounts

Freezing your credit bureau accounts can be beneficial for protecting your personal life, because it prevents anyone from accessing your credit report without your permission. This can make it much more difficult for identity thieves to open new credit accounts in your name. A credit freeze is a simple and effective way to add an extra layer of security to your personal and financial information. —Learn more

Virtual Credit Cards

Virtual credit cards are digital versions of traditional credit cards that are designed for online transactions. They are created through a secure online portal and have a unique card number, expiration date and security code. Often used for one-time purchases or specific charges specified by the user, they protect against fraud, spending limits can be set and they can be easily canceled or deactivated after use. They are a convenient and secure way to make online purchases without having to share your actual credit card information. —Learn more

VPN Services

VPN encrypts your internet traffic, making it difficult for anyone to intercept or access your data, thereby enhancing your online security and privacy. When using an untrusted WiFi network (anywhere but your home), use a VPN to curtail any attempts at snooping or hijacking your connections to the internet. VPNs can also be used to bypass geo-restricted services, most commonly used with streaming services. Keep in mind VPNs protect you from hostile networks you are on but do not expect complete privacy since VPN providers may keep logs of the sites you visit (not the sites' content though). —Learn more

Block Ads In Internet Browsers

A browser ad blocker is a useful tool that can enhance your online experience by blocking annoying ads and pop-ups on websites. It improves page loading times and can also prevent malicious ads that may contain malware or phishing scams. By blocking ads, you reduce the risk of clicking on a potentially dangerous link or falling for a scam. It's a simple and effective way to improve your online privacy and security, while also providing a more enjoyable browsing experience. —Learn more

Do Not Enter Personal Data Into AI Models

Generative artificial intelligence and large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot are all the rage and extremely useful. Keep in mind whatever you ask or enter into AI models may help train them, and they will remember everything. That means personally identifiable information (PII)—yours or clients—should never be entered unless you are paying for a subscription clearly stating no data will be shared with the world. If asked in certain ways, almost any data can be teased from these AI models, including PII.
